『Pass The Distance』をはじめて聴いたのは、90年代初頭、友達にダビングしてもらったカセットテープでした。
当時情報の無かった僕は、友達が言った「サイモン・フィンはこのレコードが売れなさすぎて自殺したらしい」という全くの嘘情報を信じていました。
それぐらい切羽詰まった、孤独感漂う歌だったからです。
A面ラスト（CDでは5曲目）の熱唱のあと、カセットテープに小さく録音されていた、カチッと針が上がる音と、その後の静寂が侘びしくて、何度も聴きました。
今回、久しぶりに聴きなおしましたが、やはりこれは大名盤です。

＜DAVID TIBET / CURRENT93＞
おそらく60's後半から70's前半にかけてのイギリス・フリーク・アンダーグラウンドから生まれた、最も奇妙で幻覚的、そして特異なアルバムだ。
初めて聴いて以来ずっと私はその魅力に取り憑かれている。
無垢、始原、虚無が織りなす「不朽の名作」。
